Qixi Festival is date of  the seventh day of the seventh lunar month each year. And known as seven Qiao festival, seven elder sister festival, daughter's day, begging Qiao Festival, etc., is a traditional Chinese folk festival, derived from the star worship, for the traditional sense of the seventh sister birthday, because of worship "seven elder sister" activities held in July seven nights, so the name "Qixi".

The Double Seventh Festival is not only a festival of worship of the seven sisters, but also a festival of love. It is a comprehensive festival based on the folklore of "The Cowboy and the Weaver Girl", with blessing and love as the theme and women as the main body. The Qixi Festival began in ancient times, the ancients found that there are two stars in the sky separated by the Milky Way, and very bright, linked to the division of labor of male and female weaving, respectively called "Altair" and "Vega". According to legend, every year on the seventh day of July, Niu Lang and Zhinu meet on the magpie bridge in the sky, and because of the festival in the evening, it is called the Qixi Festival. The festival originated in China and is also celebrated in some Asian countries that are influenced by Chinese culture, such as Japan, the Korean Peninsula and Vietnam. With the encroachment of Valentine's Day in the West, authorities have proposed making the festival a Chinese Valentine's Day to protect traditional culture. On May 20, 2006, Qixi Festival was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list by The State Council of the People's Republic of China.
