On the afternoon of December 9 local time, the first China-Arab States Summit was held at the King Abdul-Aziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia.

Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China， and Leaders of 21 Arab League countries as well as Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit of the League of Arab States and other heads of international organizations attended the summit.Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China delivered a keynote speech entitled "Carrying Forward the Spirit of China-Arab Friendship and Jointly Building a China-Arab Community with a Shared Future Facing the New Era" at the meeting.

China and Arab states enjoy a long history of friendly exchanges. We have come to know and befriend each other through the ancient Silk Road. We have shared weal and woe in our respective struggles for national liberation. We have conducted win-win cooperation in the tide of economic globalization. And we have upheld fairness and justice in the changing international environment.
